This light has a built-in ground connection. That means you don’t need a separate ground wire coming from the power source. Instead, the light grounds itself through its mounting base — when the metal base is screwed directly to a clean, bare metal surface on the trailer frame, it completes the ground circuit. The single wire coming out of the light is only for power (positive). The ground (negative) is handled through the mounting hardware.
